PivOT Occupational Therapy works with clients experiencing challenges with their mental health develop skills so they are better able to PivOT through life’s challenges and participate in activities, roles, and relationships that matter.
How can PivOT Help?
Occupational therapists approach mental health with a unique perspective that considers a person’s needs within the context of their environments, activities, and relationships. Occupational therapists support clients in skill development, finding structure and organization within their days so they can balance everything they want, need, or are expected to do, reducing the impacts of health conditions on every day function.
PivOT Occupational Therapy is a virtual first clinic, supporting clients in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.

Mental Health Assessment, Planning & Support
Individualized assessment will help determine the impact of your mental health on participation in the activities, roles and relationships that matter. These interventions will focus on your priorities for wellness with a goal of increasing your participation and satisfaction in daily life. All clients will be supported in developing a strength-based recovery plan as part of their time with PivOT.
Chronic Pain & Fatigue Support
Chronic pain and mental health often go hand-in-hand. These interventions focus on psycho-education and energy conservation. Let's work together to manage pain through skill development and activity modification, so you can get back to doing what matters. All clients will be supported in developing a strength-based recovery plan as part of their time with PivOT.
Hi, I'm Amelia!
Amelia Fletcher, OT (Reg NS)

Amelia is originally from rural New Brunswick where she learned the importance community has on mental health, and the impact spending time in nature can have on wellbeing. She attended St. Francis Xavier University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics degree in 2015. She then went on to work as a clinical kinesiologist for 4 years, working alongside occupational therapists and physiotherapists to support clients in using physical activity to manage chronic pain and mental health. Wanting to continue to grow her knowledge and skillset in mental health management, Amelia then attended Dalhousie University to complete her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. Since, Amelia has been a licensed occupational therapist working in mental health both in the private and public systems, including community, in-patient and out-patient mental health services.

Amelia enjoys supporting clients with experiencing functional challenges related to a wide range of conditions such as burnout, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and chronic pain. She also has a keen interest in supporting clients who are navigating transition in their life’s circumstance through habit change and building routine.

Amelia has additional training in psychotherapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Behavioural Activation (BA), Motivational Interviewing (MI) that help inform her practice. Amelia enjoys introducing clients to the therapeutic benefits of nature. Her practice focuses on supporting client’s in “doing” through the development of coping skills, confidence, and self-esteem.

Amelia is passionate about getting people re-connected with their community, nature, and the skills to self-manage.

Why Nature?
Research shows that spending at least 2 hours in nature each week leads to significantly higher reports of health and wellness. Spending time in nature can reduce stress, improve mood, decrease racing thoughts, and improve cognitive processes like attention and memory.

Who is PivOT for?
PivOT Occupational Therapy partners with clients age 18-64 who are experiencing challenges with their mental health and/or navigating transition in life circumstance.
Occupational therapists focus on treating function, not diagnosis.

Payment is due at the time your service is provided. Payment can be made by credit card or EMT.

Services are offered at a rate of $125/hour.

Many insurance plans cover occupational therapy services, please check with your provider.
Direct billing is available for some providers.
